Two persons are feared dead after unknown gunmen attacked two police stations in Akwa Ibom State on Saturday.
The attacks, The Herald learnt, occurred at a police station in Iwukem, Etim Ekpo Local Government Area and Ika Police Station in Ika Local Government Area of the state.
Both stations were set ablaze, according to SaharaReporters.
Recall that a similar attack on the Ini Divisional Headquarters in Ini Local Government Area of the state left five policemen and the wife of a policeman dead earlier in the week.

Saturday’s was said to have led to the burning of different facilities, vehicles, and other valuables by the assailants.
Before the latest attacks, police formations in five local councils – Essien Udim, Ika, Ini, Ikono, and Abak – had been attacked in Akwa Ibom.
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has yet to confirm the latest attacks.
Attacks on security agents and facilities in the South-South and South-East geopolitical zone have escalated in recent times, leading to loss of security agents, the attackers and hundreds of millions in public property.
