The police in Anambra have arrested four more suspects in connection to Wednesday’s attack on former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Charles Soludo.

Soludo is vying for the gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra.

He was reportedly attacked at the Isuofia Civic Center in Aguata local government area of the state, an attack that led to the death of three policemen attached to him.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Ikenga Tochukwu identified the suspects as Mbah Victor (30) John Olisakwe (21). Chigozie Omeh (20) and Emmanuel Nnobi (28).

Tochukwu said that the suspects confessed to have actively taken part in the attack on Soludo and subsequent abduction of the Commissioner for Public and Utilities, Engr Emeka Ezenwanne.

He said that efforts were still ongoing to apprehend other fleeing accomplices, unravel the circumstances surrounding the incidence and bring perpetrators to book.

The police spokesman quoted the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Monday Kuryas as reiterating his commitment towards ensuring the safety and security of the people.

Tochukwu therefore urged the public not to relent in providing useful information that would assist the command to fight all forms of criminality in the state.
