Gunmen suspected to be bandits on Saturday opened fire on the convoy of Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.
The incident occurred at Tyo Mu along Makurdi/Gboko road around noon as the governor was heading to the state capital after an engagement away.
However, security agents attached to the convoy repelled the attack.
