President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Saturday received COVID-19 vaccine shots.
The president’s personal physician, Dr. Suhayb Sanusi, administered the vaccine on the president at 11:51 at the New Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The briefing ceremony was witnessed by high-ranking officials of the Federal Government.
Shortly after the president got the jab, Vice President Osinbajo was vaccinated at 11.57 am by his personal physician, Dr. Nicholas Audifferen.
The number one and number two citizens got the vaccines ahead of other strategic leaders of the current administration, a day after frontline health workers were vaccinated.

The Herald had reported that a doctor at the National Hospital, Abuja, Dr. Cyprian Ngong was the first Nigerian to receive the AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccine doses imported into Nigeria on Tuesday.
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) certified the 3.924m doses of the vaccine early Friday, few hours before the frontline health workers were vaccinated.
