Nigerians have taken to social media to mourn the demise of veteran actor, Sadiq Daba, who died Wednesday evening.
Sadiq Daba first came into national prominence as a cast on the NTA drama series, ‘Cock Crow at Dawn’.
His role as “Inspector Waziri” in the hit Kunle Afolayan film ‘October 1’ further endeared him to many lovers of Nollywood.
His demise followed a lengthy battle with leukemia and prostate cancer.
Confirming the ace actor’s demise, his friend Joe Odumakin said he passed away at 8:30 pm on Wednesday.
He was said to have died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

Recall that Daba had first disclosed information about his illness in 2017, following which many Nigerians, including billionaire Femi Otedola, raised funds for his treatment.
A veteran broadcaster with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), from where he retired after more than 30 years of service, he was in 2015 awarded ‘Best Actor’ by the Africa Movie Academy Award for his role in ‘October 1’.
Sharing a photo of himself with Daba on Instagram, the producer of the hit movie, Kunle Afolayan wrote,
“You will be missed “Uncle S”
“You made your mark.
“Orun re (Rest in peace).”
Other Nigerians also mourned Daba’s passing on Twitter.
Sad that the cock will no longer crow at dawn.
