The names have emerged of five out of seven air force personnel killed in Sunday’s Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft flight.
The Nigerian Air Force plane, which was en route to Minna in Niger State, crashed around 10:48 am near the runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja.
Sahara Reporters identified five of the victims as Flt. Lt. Gazama, Flt. Lt. Piyo, Flg. Offr. Okpara, FS Olawumi and ACM Johnson.

Reacting to the incident, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar wrote, “I have just learnt of the crash of a military aircraft near Abuja. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those onboard the ill-fated flight.
“While investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause(s) of the crash, I wish to express my deepest condolences to the affected families and the Nigerian military, particularly the Nigerian Air force.”
