First Baptist Church to Build Hospital in Keffi

The First Baptist Church,  Keffi, Nasarawa, has announced plans to build a  hospital in the town in an  effort to contribute to the healthcare of the residents.

 

The church’s Senior Pastor Samuel Taiwo made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria  during the 100 years anniversary celebration of the First Baptist in Keffi on Sunday.

 

The cleric  said  that the First Baptist had also contributed remarkably to the educational needs of the people.

 

Taiwo, who is also the Vice Chairman, Benue/ Nasarawa Baptist Conference, told NAN  that the church had recorded significant achievements in its  100 years of existence.

He said that the church was dedicated to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, promoting  peace, love anf harmony.

 

He described the church’s relationship with its host community as cordial and remarkable, saying that the visit of the Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Shehu Yamusa,  and Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, to the church for the celebration showed  that they was accepted by the host community.

He added that the visit indicated that there was harmonious relationship between them.

 

Taiwo told NAN that  although the church started with only the Yoruba service,  it had added the English version, successfully accommodating worshippers of from various tribes who could communicate in the English Language.

 

He called on Nigerians to always put the interest of the country first “so that collectively, we can work hard to build a society for all to enjoy and be proud of”.

 

Taiwo urged Nigerians to pray harder for the progress of the country.

NAN reports that that the celebration featured fund raising for the building of the proposed hospital.
