The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has commended the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for eliminating 50 bandits terrorising commuters on the popular Kaduna-Abuja highway.

Chairman of ACF, Chief Audu Ogbeh personally signed the Sunday statement commending the Air Force.

Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, had disclosed that several bandits were neutralised along the route by the air component of Operation Thunder Strike.

However, he did not give the number of the affected bandits.

But in the ACF statement shared by its National Publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Yawe, said it was heartwarming that the bandits suffered a heavy blow from the Air Force.

The group called on other security agencies – Army, Police, Navy, DSS – to take a cue from the Air Force by tackling the criminals headlong.

“I wish to on behalf of Arewa Consultative Forum congratulate President, Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, Muhammadu Buhari, and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, for the successful operation on Abuja–Kaduna road last week in which about 50 bandits were neutralised.

“The bandits have for some time now taken control of that road and made life unbearable for innocent travellers on it. Many of them have been robbed, killed, kidnapped for ransom etc. It is indeed heart warming to hear that they have been dealt a heavy blow by our gallant forces,” Ogbeh’s statement read.
