Iniesta sustains an injury for Vissel Kobe

Ex Barcelona Midfielder, Andres Iniesta, has broken his leg bone and will be out for about four months, his Japanese club, Vissel Kobe, announced on Wednesday.

Iniesta got injured while playing for his club side, Kobe, in the Asian Champions League (ACL).

The former Barcelona legend underwent surgery, successfully, in the city of Barcelona.

The injury setback occurred during the ACL quarter-final match versus Suwon which took place last week.

The midfield maestro took to popular social media platform, Instagram, to post a photograph of himself laying on a hospital bed, declaring the broken leg injury.

He tagged the photo “rectus femoris of my right leg” and it immediately drew sympathy from fans and neutrals alike.

“After many tests, I took the advice of my medical team and we have considered that the best option for me was to get surgery and speed up the recovery,” Iniesta disclosed.

He also revealed that the surgery was successful and he was looking forward to getting back in action for his Asian side.

“The surgery has been a success and I am feeling well,” Iniesta explained to his teeming admirers.

Andreas Iniesta, it will be recalled, moved to Japanese club side, Vissel Kobe, in May, 2018.

The ex Camp Nou great has already racked up 63 appearances for his new side in what is a largely frustrating campaign as they currently struggle in 12th position in the 14-team log.

The current standing is a far cry from their 8th place finish in the 2019 campaign.

Iniesta is widely remembered for his title winning years in Spanish giants, Barcelona where he won 4 Uefa Champions League titles, 9 La liga trophies, 3 UEFA Super Cup titles, 3 Fifa Club World Cup trophies, 6 Copa Del Rey titles, among other honours.

He has won an Emperors Cup and a Japanese Super Cup with his current side already.
