Senator for Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, Shehu Sani has condemned Boko Haram’s beheading of 43 rice farmers in Zabarmari community, Jere LGA of Borno State which has been dubbed #ZabarmariMassacre on social media.
Sani, like other Nigerians, took to Twitter on Sunday morning to decry the Saturday afternoon incident.
Explaining the magnitude of #ZabarmariMassacre, he noted that the killing of 43 rice farmers in one fell swoop equated to wiping out President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet.
The current federal cabinet comprises 43 ministers.
He wrote, “If you wish to know or imagine what it’s like to massacre 43 people. (It) is like almost wiping out the entire Federal Cabinet.
“Or like picking one person per state including the FCT with additional 6 people representing the geopolitical zones.”
Sani, who is a human rights activist, described #ZabarmariMassacre as a “tragedy of unimaginable proportion”.
