A Kaduna-based popular #SecureNorth campaigner, Rabiu Auwal, has been killed by the same people he campaigned against – bandits.
It was gathered that the bandits gunned down Auwal in his community on Friday night.
Senator for Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, Shehu Sani took to Twitter to break the news early Saturday.
He said that Auwal would be buried according to Islamic rites today.
The victim had identified himself on social media as an “activist, advocate, community development crusader, volunteer and young charming entrepreneur”.
Sharing a photo of the victim and a screenshot of his Facebook page, Sani wrote, “This young man Rabiu Awwal was a frontline Secure North campaigner based in Kaduna.
“Late evening yesterday, he lost his life as a result of gunshots sustained when Bandits attacked his community.
“He would be buried today .Inna lillahi wainna Illayhir rajiun. May Allah forgive him.”
