Igbo is not a dirty word – Fani-Kayode replies Buba Galadima

Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has urged a Member of the APC Board of Trustees (BoT), Buba Galadima to come clean on his statement that the North would support a candidate from the South East to be president but not Igbo presidency.

He stated this in a Tuesday tweet while reacting to Galadima’s viral comment.

Galadima had said, “I have a lot of friends from South East, I can vote for any of them if they present themselves but I am not agreeing to Igbo presidency”.

Reacting, Fani-Kayode faulted him for trying to create an unnecessary distinction that should not exist, insisting that the “people of the South East are Igbos”.

The ex-minister added that there was nothing wrong with Igbo presidency.

Quoting the comment, Fani-Kayode said, “When a Fulani was supported for the Presidency did we say we will support a North Westerner and not a Fulani? Why the double standard?

“We must call a spade a spade. The people of the South East are Igbos, the word IGBO is not a dirty one and there is NOTHING wrong with an Igbo Presidency.”
