Senator for Kogi West in the 8th Senate, Dino Melaye says there is no truth behind reports that he bought his 11-year-old “daughter” a Lamborghini.
He made the clarification after posts on social media and some blogs had it that he bought a Lamborghini for his daughter named “Mary Melaye” in celebration of her 11th birthday.
An Instagram account by the so-called Mary Melaye showed the youngster flaunting a Lamborghini and thanking her “dad” for gifting her the car.
Taking to Twitter on Monday evening, the vocal politician said he had no daughter named Mary and therefore could not have bought a car for a nonexistent person.
He accused the purveyors of the reports of being obsessed with him, saying they were always too eager to carry reports about him without verification.
“I have no daughter called Mary and the Instagram account with the name Mary Melaye is fake.
“How can any responsible Father buy even a KIA Rio for a child @ 11. Dino matter dey sweet una to lie sha,” he stated.
Dino Melaye is a well-known lover of fast cars, boasting of several Ferraris in his vast collection.
