Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode says those directing Igbo people to quit Lagos are saying rubbish.
Fani-Kayode spoke Saturday after violence erupted in the state as hoodlums hijacked the peaceful EndSARS protests to loot and commit arson.
The palace of the Oba of Lagos was looted and his staff of office carted away.
Many police stations and the Igbosere High Court among others were also looted and torched.
Some persons in Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre blamed people of Igbo origin for the violence.
Reacting, Fani-Kayode said, “Anyone that tells the Igbo or members of any other tribe to leave Lagos or anywhere else in the South West and that threatens them with violence is talking rubbish and is on their own.
“I call on my Igbo brothers in Lagos and the South West to stand their ground, stand firm and stay where they are.
“The sons of Oduduwa will stand by you. The South West is safe for all non-indegenes.
“We are a peaceful, loving, liberal, kind and accommodating people. We are not animals and thugs.
“We do not give our compatriots ultimatums, throw them out of our territory or threaten them with violence.”
