First Lady Aisha Buhari has tweeted a Hausa-language song appealing to her husband, President Muhammadu Buhari, to end insecurity in the country.
A 22-second video of the song she tweeted with the hashtag #Achechijamaa on Saturday shows the president at different meetings with the nation’s service chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police.
Achechijamaa translates to “save the people”.
The short clip was excised from “Arewa na kuka” meaning “the north weeps” by Kannywood star Adam Zango, Premium Times reported.
The lyrics of the song say: “In the name of God, pay attention/We seek your help/The North is weeping/ Our blood is being shed/Our people are being killed/Our property torched”.

Aisha Buhari’s call for action to “rescue” victims of insecurity especially in the north comes as protests demanding an end to police brutality continue to linger.

The First Lady has at different occasions criticised her husband’s administration, especially the role played by some of his appointees.
Boko Haram insurgency, bandit attacks and farmers/herdsmen conflict have made the north a hotbed of insecurity in recent times.
