The Belgian capital said it will close its bars, cafes for one month starting on Thursday, to curb snowballing coronavirus numbers and infections and avoid putting pressure on hospitals in the region.

Brussels city officials decided the measure among others yet to be announced at a Wednesday meeting, news agency Belga reported.
Restaurants can stay open until 11 pm (2100 GMT), but people can only enter them in groups of up to four, as per new national rules.
More than 130,000 people have been infected in Belgium so far. With a population of 11.5 million, it was one of the hardest-hit nations when Covid-19 first engulfed Europe earlier this year.
More than 10,000 people have died.
Recent weeks have seen a fresh surge in infections. The country’s newly sworn-in prime minister, Alexander de Croo, announced tighter measures on the national level on Tuesday.
There was a 48 per cent increase in new infections in the seven days leading up to Oct. 2, the latest public health figures showed.
