I’m Not Behind Bring Back Jonathan Campaign – Fani-Kayode Fumes

Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode says there is no truth behind reports that he is sponsoring a campaign to return Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as president.

He disclosed this in a tweet on Wednesday while refuting reports of his sponsorship of the campaign tagged #BringbackGEJ on social media.

Jonathan was president of Nigeria from 2010 to 2015 but failed in his re-election bid as he was defeated by Muhammadu Buhari.

Some Nigerians disappointed with the Buhari administration regularly take to social media to call for Jonathan to return.

The ex-minister also tweeted a ‘#BringBackGEJ picture’ on his Twitter page on Monday.

However, Fani-Kayode said he was not the sponsor of the campaign.

The controversial ex-minister accused popular online newspaper Sahara Reporters of leading a campaign of calumny against him, including pushing the latest allegation.

Reacting to the allegation of sponsoring the campaign, Fani-Kayode wrote, “I wonder why @SaharaReporters is so obsessed with me.

“If it is not that they are churning out fanciful & salacious beer parlour rubbish about my private life it is about me being a murderer or a pedophile.

“The latest is that I am sponsoring a Bring Back GEJ campaign. Fake news!”
