The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr. Ahmad Abdurrahman, has promised that the command will provide adequate protection during and after the Independence Day celebration in the state.
Abdurrahman made the promise in a statement issued on Wednesday in Enugu by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe.
He advised residents to be law-abiding and vigilant over the things happening in their neighborhood.
The police boss warned individuals and groups against conducting themselves in ways that could lead to a breach of the peace in the state.

According to him, anyone found to be engaging in violence will be made to face the full weight of the law.
He also urged residents to continue to observe the COVID-19 preventive protocols during the holiday.
“I have directed the maximum deployment of the command’s operational and intelligence assets,” Abdurrahman said.
He charged all the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Heads of Operational and Tactical Departments to be dutiful and proactive to reduce crimes and criminality.
He further urged residents of the state to promptly report suspected criminals and acts of criminality to the nearest police station.
