Prince Harry Refunds £2.4 Million Spent On Renovating Frogmore Cottage

2 Min Read

Prince Harry has dipped hands in his pockets to repay the £2.4m of taxpayers’ money spent on the renovation of his UK home at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.

The Duke of Sussex who now resides in America after relieving himself off the royal duties alongside his wife, Meghan Markle, remitted the bill in full by making a contribution to the Sovereign Grant, announced his spokesman.

He added: “This contribution, as originally offered by Prince Harry, has fully covered the necessary renovation costs of Frogmore Cottage, a property of Her Majesty The Queen, and will remain the UK residence of The Duke and his family.”

The  Duke and Duchess of Sussex agreed to repay the funds for the renovation work carried out on the Frogmore home as part of the plans drawn up when they quit as senior working royals in March.

According to reports, the £2.4m payment was made possible all thanks to Harry and Meghan’s new multi-million pound Netflix deal agreed last week.

Meghan and Harry revealed that they will be producing films and series for the popular streaming website Netflix, including scripted series, docu-series, documentaries, and children programs.

Frogmore Cottage, which is originally owned by the Crown Estate, was gifted to Harry and his wife Meghan the Queen of England but was renovated with taxpayers’ money.
