The Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) headed by DCP Abba Kyari, has arrested a member of the Benue State House of Assembly, Jonathan Agbidyeh for alleged kidnapping, murder, and theft.
Reports say that the lawmaker, who represents Katsina-Ala West Constituency, was arrested on Wednesday.
Saturday Sun reported, quoting an unnamed source, that Agbidyeh was picked up by the team and whisked away to Abuja after a Toyota Hilux vehicle belonging to a kidnap victim was found in his possession.
The kidnap victim was said to be the widow of former Justice of the Court of Appeal, late Justice Tine Tur.
A Benue State resident reportedly petitioned the Inspector General of Police in Abuja over the alleged discovery of the vehicle in the lawmaker’s possession, causing the IRT team to be dispatched to apprehend him.
