Senator for Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, Shehu Sani has lamented the killing of a father of 12, Mallam Jaafar Bello on his farm by bandits.
In a tweet on Sunday morning tweet, Sani said that the incident occurred on the outskirts of Udawa village, Chikun local government area of the volatile Southern Kaduna.
Sani lamented that farming has become a suicide mission in the North-West geopolitical zone of the country.
The senator wrote, “Mallam Jaafar Bello, a man in his 60s with twelve Children was slaughtered by Bandits in his farm in the outskirts of Udawa village in Chikun LG, along Kaduna Lagos road. May his Soul Rest In Peace. Farming has now become a suicidal act in most communities in the northwest.”

Analysts say no fewer than 63 persons have been killed in the troubled Southern Kaduna region in the past few weeks.
The continued killings prompted Governor Nasir el-Rufai to declare a 24-hour curfew in four local government areas.
