JUST IN: Joy Nunieh finally testifies before Reps in Abuja

Joy Nunieh, embattled former Acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has gone before House of Representatives to give her testimony regarding the mismanagement of funds in the commission.

The Herald on Thursday reported that Nunieh’s residence in Port-Harcourt was invaded by armed police officers. The timely intervention of Rivers state Governor Nyesom Wike who ordered the armed men to stand down, saved the former NDDC Boss from getting arrested.

The unsuccessful arrest was allegedly a ploy to prevent Nunieh from testifying at the NDDC hearing before House of Reps slated for Friday  July 17, The Punch reports.

However, Wike disclosed the unlawful invasion of the former NDDC boss residence has been reported to Mohammed Adamu, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) who will investigate the case.

Joy Nunieh and Godswill Akpabio, NDDC Minister have been engaged in a war of words since President Buhari ordered a probe into the activities of the commission.
