Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has said he could not share photos of 23 Nigerian soldiers that died in a Boko Haram ambush on Wednesday because the photos were too “horrific and depressing”.

He stated this in a tweet on Thursday morning.

The Herald had reported that the affected soldiers belonged to the 25 Task Force Brigade in Damboa, Borno state.

They were reportedly attacked along the Maiduguri-Damboa road after a successful clearance operation against the terrorists which lasted five days.

Apart from the soldiers killed in the attack, many more are said to have been unaccounted for.

Taking to Twitter, Fani-Kayode said he could not bear to share the photos of the young men killed in the attack.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and for Nigeria to overcome insurgency in the North East.

“The pictures of our 23 soldiers that were killed by Boko Haram in Borno state yesterday are horrific and depressing. I cannot even bear to share them. I weep for these young men. May God help us in this nation and may the souls of each of these young warriors rest in peace,” Fani-Kayode wrote.
