The family of one of the police officers murdered by soldiers in the process of setting kidnap kingpin, Wadume free has sued the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN) for refusing to prosecute the soldiers involved.
The family of late Inspector Mark Ediale filed a suit through their counsel, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN) seeking an order of the court to compel the Attorney General to prosecute the indicted soldiers.

The Inspector General of Police had filed terrorism charges against kidnap kingpin, Hamisu Bala also known as Wadume alongside ten soldiers of the 93 Battallion led by Captain Tijjani Balarabe for the murder of the police officers.
It was alleged however that the AGF which took over the case in June amended the charges and removed the soldiers from the charge sheet.
Femi Falana thereafter sent a letter to the AGF on June 15 demanding that the soldiers be arrested and charged to court on June 22 latest.
The AGF refused to comply and was subsequently sued to court.
The suit is seeking an order to;
“grant leave to the applicant to apply for judicial review and to seek an order of mandamus directing and or compelling the respondent (AGF) to file charges against the soldiers indicted in the investigation conducted into the gruesome murder of officers of the Nigerian Police at the outskirt of Ibi Town, Taraba State on August 6, 2019, in line with the order of the Federal High Court, Abuja Judicial Division in Suit No: FHC/ABJ/CR/30/2020”.
Andrew Ediale brother of one of the slain police officers said Mark Ediale was the breadwinner of the family before he was killed.
