Former Oyo state Governor, Abiola Ajimobi has died after a short battle with the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Ajimobi who had been on life support since he slipped into a coma last Friday has succumbed to the cold hands of death at the age of 70.
The former Governor, Ajimobi died of underlying health condition which worsened after he contracted Coronavirus.
Close family sources who confirmed Ajimobi’s demise to The Nation disclosed, the Oyo state politician took his last breath around 4pm.
It would be recalled that investigative Journalist Fisayo Soyombo last Friday hinted that all may not be well with the politician after he tweeted that the former governor’s health has deteriorated drastically.
He died at the First Cardiology Hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos state.
