Events in Edo state took another turn as youths from the state stormed the National Headquarters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to protest against the political battle of Godfatherism currently going on in the state.
The youths also proceeded to purchase an expression of interest form for the incumbent Governor, Godwin Obaseki who currently has no party to contest the forthcoming governorship election in the State.

According to the leader of the group, Mr. Smith Osazele Akaya, Obaseki has done well in the last 4 years and the attempt by former governor, Adams Oshiomhole to bring back Godfatherism in the state is not a good development.
“We know what the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) represents and we are optimistic that Godwin Obaseki will win the governorship election on this platform,” Akaya said.
Speaking on behalf of the National Chairman of the ADC, his aide, Mr. Nzekwesi Samuel said Edo youths made the right choice.
He said ADC was a party of the people and as such only the people make the decisions for the party.
