Nine people lost their lives while an unspecified number were injured during an attack by suspected Herdsmen on a community on Benue state.
According to a report by Daily Post, the suspected Herdsmen attacked Agatu community in Benue very early in Sunday morning.
Other sources from the community said the attack was allegedly carried out by assailants because two Fulani Herdsmen had been killed and their cattle rustled in the area.

Hon. Suleiman Usman Alilu, caretaker Chairman, Agatu local government area confirmed the incident saying he received a call that Adana was under seige by herdsmen on Sunday morning.
He said further that he called the Chief Security Adviser of Benue state, Col. P Hembah who deployed security agents to the area to restore normalcy.
He stated that the number of casualties were yet to be confirmed.
A medical doctor from the village, Dr. josiah Ikwulono however confirmed that Nine people including 5 males and 4, females were killed in the attack.
