Two policemen have been arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate Court for stealing the sum of N30 million from the palace of the Oba of Lagos.
Victor Ikudehin, 34 and Philip Hunsa, 34, were attached to the security detail of Oba Rilwan Akiolu and reportedly committed the offence in March 2012.
Police prosecutor, Superintendent of Police, SP Charles Odii told the court presided over by Magistrate Helen Omisore that the policemen conspired to steal the money and did not prevent a teenager (unnamed) from committing the offence.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges and were granted bail in the sum of N250,000 each.
The matter was adjourned till July 31.
