George Floyd: Trump slams CNN, Fake News Media Over False Narratives

2 Min Read

President Donald Trump has accused America’s mainstream media of pushing false narratives to discredit his administration in the wake of nationwide protests occasioned by the death of George Floyd, an African-American man.

The Minneapolis resident was killed on Monday when a police officer, Drek Chauvin, knelt on his neck until he died in the process of arresting him.

Since the incident, protests have broken out across America to demand justice and bring an end to racial profiling of African-Americans.

However, in a Sunday tweet, President Trump said that the mainstream media have been weaving false narratives to present his administration as losing control of the country.

Trump has continually accused CNN and other media giants in America of demonstrating left-wing bias in the coverage of his administration.

He wrote, “The Lamestream Media is doing everything within their power to foment hatred and anarchy. As long as everybody understands what they are doing, that they are FAKE NEWS and truly bad people with a sick agenda, we can easily work through them to GREATNESS!”

Reacting to the tweet, author and columnist, Tim Young wrote, “I watched some of MSNBC’s “coverage” of the riots on my flight today… it was literally just activism and fanning the flames of hatred while blaming Trump.”
