MAGA

A video has emerged of the moment a mob attacked a man in Columbia, South Carola for donning a MAGA hat.

Make America Great Again” (often abbreviated as MAGA) is a campaign slogan used in American politics that was popularized by Donald Trump in his successful 2016 presidential campaign.

Supporters of the president frequently don merchandise bearing the inscription, although it was not immediately clear if the unidentified man is a Trump supporter.

The attack comes as protests continue to intensify across America over the Monday killing of 46-year-old George Floyd.

The Minneapolis resident died after a police officer, Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck during an arrest.

In the 22-second video, the victim can be seen walking peacefully on the street until a lady draws attention to the hat.

A number of young persons quickly emerge from nearby apartment buildings to attack the unarmed man.

It was not immediately clear if the victim sustained any injuries or was killed in the attack.

The Herald can also report that a television reporter, Miranda Parnell was injured Saturday in Columbia when rocks thrown during protests outside the city’s police headquarters hit her.

“A person wearing a MAGA hat showed up at the rally, protesters confronted that person & then rocks were thrown,” Parnell reported.

According to ABC, several hundred people participated in the demonstration, tearing down the U.S. flag and the South Caroline state flag in front of the police.
