The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has ordered the immediate posting of new commissioners of police to the Edo, Bauchi, Ebonyi, Gombe, Ondo, and Oyo state commands.
This was contained in a Thursday statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Frank Mba.
According to the statement, CP Undie J. Adie has been posted to Osun, CP Johnson Babatunde Kokumo to Edo, CP Lawal Jimeta Tanko to Bauchi, CP Philip Sule Maku to Ebonyi, CP Ahmed Maikudi Shehu to Gombe, CP Bolaji Amidu Salami to Ondo, and CP Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu to Oyo.
Some commissioners of police were posted to special formations of the force.
CP Evelyn T. Peterside was posted to Eastern Port, CP Okon Etim Ene to the Explosive Ordinance Department (EOD), CP Bello Maikwashi to Airport Command and CP Olukolu Tairu Shina to Anti-Fraud Unit (Force Criminal Investigation Depertment Annex Lagos).
“The Inspector General of Police charges the newly posted officers to ensure they consolidate and advance the gains of their predecessors particularly in the implementation of community-policing, crime prevention, public security, public safety and general crime fighting.
“The IGP also enjoins the citizens of the affected states to cooperate with the Commissioners of Police to enable them succeed in their new areas of responsibilities,” the statement read.
