Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has personally supervised the demolition of two hotels identified as Prodest Hotel, Eleme, and Etemeteh Hotel, Onne on Sunday, over the alleged flouting of the lockdown order imposed by the governor.
Wike had imposed a lockdown order on the state, while putting strict measures in place to ensure compliance by the state’s residents.
Wike’s lockdown order reportedly affects two local government areas of Rivers State.
He was said to have directed all hotels in the area to shutdown operations and services immediately, failure of which he said would attract instant demolition.
