The Lagos State Government says 26 more COVID-19 patients have been discharged from its isolation centres.
The State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu disclosed this on Friday.
“Today, 26 more COVID19Lagos patients; 14 males and 12 females including two foreign nationals – a Polish and a Filipino have been discharged from our Yaba and Onikan Isolation facilities to reunite with the society.
“The patients, 14 from the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba and 12 from the Onikan Isolation Centre were discharged having fully recovered and tested negative to COVID-19 in two consecutive readings.
“With this, the number number of #COVID19 confirmed cases that have been successfully managed and discharged in Lagos is now 225.”
The Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, however, added that one more COVID-19 related death has been recorded in the state.
Confirming the commissioner’s disclosure, the State Ministry of Health tweeted, “45 new cases of #COVID-19 Infection confirmed. Total confirmed cases in Lagos now 992. Unfortunately, one #COVID19 death was recorded. This brings the total number of #COVID-19 related deaths in Lagos to 21.”
Abayomi added that the Lagos State Government expected residents of the state to always wear face masks in public.
“It is the collective responsibility of Lagos residents to embrace the #MaskUpLagos initiative to reduce the spread of #COVID19,” the commissioner tweeted.
