NCDC Announces Chinese Experts’ Test Result As COVID-19 Cases Rise To 1,532

As COVID-19 cases in Nigeria rise to 1,532, the 15-man Chinese medical team in Nigeria have all tested negative to the virus.

 

The medical team had been deployed to Nigeria in other to assist the country in its fight against COVID-19.

 

They were however subjected to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control directive of a mandatory 14-days self-isolation and COVID-19 test.

 

According to reports, they completed their mandatory 14 days quarantine on April 22 and been confirmed negative by the NCDC.

 

This was disclosed by the Minister of Health, O
Dr Osagie Ehanire, during the presidential task force briefing on COVID-19.

 

He said:

“The Chinese persons who came in, the tests have been done after their 14-day quarantine. All of them were negative so the Federal Ministry of Health is done with that particular case.”

The Herald reported that confirmed cases of COVID-19 continue to rise as Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announces  195 new cases in the country.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 1532.

The Health agency made the announcement on its official Twitter account.
