Nasarawa State Records First Coronavirus Case

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, announced that the State has recorded its first coronavirus case.

He made the announcement during a press briefing on Tuesday.

He said: “It is sad to announce that Nasarawa has recorded the first case from this lady that travelled from Kano to Kokona local government area of the state.

“We already evacuated the lady from Kokona to Lafia where we have better facilities to take care of her.

“We have also isolated the family where she came from so that we can conduct a proper test to ensure that her family members are not infected .”

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the coronavirus lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and the FCT till May 2 after which there will be a gradual easing of the Lockdown.

The president also ordered a lockdown of Kano State for the next two weeks after 600 people including prominent residents of the state died mysteriously in the last two weeks.

The president made this known during a national address at 8pm on Monday evening.

Buhari commended Nigerians for their resilience and patriotism displayed in the fight against the coronavirus while noting the global impact of the virus.

He extended the condolence of the government to individuals who have lost their loved ones to the disease.
