Another prominent person in Kano, a professor of mass communication at the Bayero University, Kano, Balarabe Maikaba, has died on Sunday.
PUNCH gathered from a family source that funeral prayer will be held for the deceased at 4 pm at his family house, near Plaza cinema, Fagge quarters in Kano city.

The Herald earlier reported that Kano state has become the epicentre of gloom with the continuous mysterious deaths of many Nigerians.
The Northern state has been trending on Nigerian social platforms after it was claimed that over 600 people died within eight days.
While few died of COVID-19, the major cause of other deaths remains unknown although there have been speculations linking meningitis to these mass deaths.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has shut down its agency in Kano state and there has been no official statement from the government regarding these sudden deaths.
