COVID-19: Ogun Govt. Distributes Relief Materials to Ipokia Indigenes

No fewer than 1,000 indigenes of Ipokia Local Government area of Ogun have benefitted from the ongoing distribution of relief materials to cushion the effect of the lockdown, occasioned by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Mr Sam Oyeleye, the Director of Strategy, Ministry of Information and Strategy, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abeokuta.

The statement said that the beneficiaries of the materials cut across the four wards of the local government, including Ipokia wards I and II as well as Maun wards I and II.

It quoted Mr Abdulkabiru Abolurin, the Transition Committee Chairman of the local government, who represented Gov. Dapo Abiodun at the presentation of the relief materials, as saying that the gesture was to assist them cushion the effect of the lockdown.

Abolurin commended the governor for extending the relief materials to the people of the council area.
He listed the relief materials to include rice, beans, garri, vegetable oil, salt and food seasoning, among other food items.

“The distribution of the relief materials from the state government has been peaceful and will continue in Agosasa ward II, Tube, Agada and Ijofin wards of the local government.

“The less-privileged, the poor, the aged and other vulnerable citizens in Ihunbo-Ilase ward, Ifonyintedo ward and those in Idiroko and Ajegunle wards will also receive the relief materials,” he said.
