The federal government says it is expecting a team of medical experts from China to assist Nigeria handle the coronavirus cases in the country.
Osagie Enahire, minister of health, made this known at the presidential task force on COVID-19 briefing in Abuja on Friday, April 3.
Enahire explained that the team of medical professionals expected from China will include doctors, nurses and other medical advisers.

According to him, “An 18-man team of Chinese medical experts including doctors, nurses and other medical advisers shall come along with the flight to assist us.
“I must at this juncture commend our frontline workers who are doing a great job in case identification and management.”
Earlier, The Herald reported that the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed has revealed the federal government will not release Coronavirus (COVID-19) victims to families of the deceased for burial.
The Minister who made the revelation at a News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) forum in Abuja disclosed the bodies of the deceased remains contagious even in their lifeless state.
Lai Mohammed said Ministry of Health has been charged with the duty of ensuring death of COVID-19 patients are properly buried where they will no longer pose a threat to the safety of other citizens.
“Coronavirus is very dangerous and contagious; there is no medicine for it yet and it is not just capable of killing, overwhelming healthcare system, it will destroy the economy.

“In some countries, they are putting dead bodies in big refrigerators, because the morgues have filled up. Nigerians should not forget that these are not the type of corpses that can be claimed for burial because it must be handled by the ministry of health,” he said.
