The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed six new cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Osun State.
The centre disclosed this in a tweet via its official Twitter handle on Friday morning.
According to NCDC, this brings the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 190.
“Six new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Osun State, Nigeria.
“As at 11:00 am 3rd April there are 190 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria.
“Twenty have been discharged with two deaths,” the tweet read.

Giving a breakdown of the cases by state, NCDC said Lagos leads with 98 and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) comes a distant second with 38 cases.
Others include: Osun- 20, Oyo – 8; Akwa Ibom – 5; Ogun – 4; Edo – 4; Kaduna – 4; Bauchi – 3; Enugu – 2; Ekiti – 2; Rivers -1 and Benue – 1

This comes less than 24 hours after the World Health Organisation (WHO) confirmed that the number of confirmed cases had surpassed 1 million globally, with more than 50,000 deaths.
Worldometers reports that confirmed cases stood at 1,030,193 and fatalities at 54,198 as at 11:25 am Nigerian Time.
