Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has reportedly told friends that he wants to quit the club this summer in order to join Barcelona during the transfer window, according to the Metro.
According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Suarez spoke to friends over the phone whilst with the Uruguay team at the World Cup.
And he claimed that he wanted to make an exit from Anfield in order to link up with the Catalan giants over the coming weeks.
The La Liga side have apparently already opened talks with Liverpool about bringing Suarez on board after making him their top transfer target this summer, following on the heels of Neymar, who they brought in last year.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will look to fend off any interest in his star man, but Barcelona believe they can convince him to sell at the right price and are believed to have opened the bidding at £68m.
Barca are in the midst of a drastic squad overhaul this summer after new coach Luis Enrique looks to reshape his playing staff after a disappointing campaign last term.
So far Suarez has made a huge impact on the World Cup despite only playing one game as his two goals against England last Thursday dumped the Three Lions out of the tournament.
