Dr Osagie Ehanire, the Minister of Health, has said that the number of persons who have had contacts with coronavirus being traced has spiked over 6,000 in Nigeria.
The Minister, who disclosed this at the briefing by the Presidential Taskforce in Abuja on Thursday, also stated the number of infected persons are likely to increase this week.
Ehanire further disclosed that the Ministry met with the leadership of the Nigerian Medical Association with a view to bringing back some retired doctors to assist with emergency efforts, Vanguard reported.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, had announced that 23 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded, spiking the total number to 174 on Wednesday, April 1.
The NCDC disclosed this on Wednesday through its official Twitter handle.
NCDC tweeted:
“Twenty three new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Nigeria – Nine in Lagos, seven in the FCT, five in Akwa Ibom, one in Kaduna and one in Bauchi State.
“As of 08:00 pm on 1st of April, there are 174 confirmed cases of #COVID-19 reported in Nigeria. Nine have been discharged with two deaths.”
