The General Overseer, Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman has rejected permutations that Nigeria could record as many as 39,000 COVID-19 cases.
However, he wrongly attributed the permutation to the World Health Organisation (WHO), although Commissioner for Health in Lagos State, Prof. Akin Abayomi stated it on Friday.
Abayomi said, “Our Mathematical modelling shows that worst-case scenario we might have 39,000 cases in Lagos State; however if we practice good social distancing, we can limit that to about 13,000.”
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), there are currently 151 confirmed cases in the country, 82 of them in Lagos.
However, this falls way short of Abayomi’s prediction, which Suleman said would not come to past.
“WHO says they anticipate 39,000 Nigerians will be infected of the virus…We say again, we reject it..both they, their permutations and expectations will fail..pls join me to reject it and also verbalise it,” the fiery preacher wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.

Earlier, he wrote, WHO (world health organisation) says Africa should prepare for the worst..as Africans we say to WHO from the depth of our hearts, we REJECT it..the worst is over..”
