Alhaji Abdulrahman Maigoro, the Chairman, Keffi Local Government Council, Nasarawa State, has urged residents of the area to respect the advice of e perts and governments policies to contain Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Maigoro also advised Nigerians to embrace social distancing and other preventive measures against Coronavirus pandemic in order to stay safe in the country.
He made the call on Wednesday in Keffi while fielding questions from newsmen over the spread of the disease in the country.
He said if Nigerians adhered to social distancing and other preventive measures against COVID-19, it would go a long way in curtailing the spread of the disease in the country.
“The state government under the able leadership of Gov. Abdullahi Sule has already taken some decisions in order to curtail the spread of the disease in the state and the country at large.
“These includes that worship centres such as mosques and churches are advised to remain closed until further notice.
“Also, all our markets remain closed henceforth except those selling food items and medicament.
“The state government also said social gatherings such as weddings, naming ceremonies and burial ceremonies, among others, have also been suspended with immediate effect.
“Some critical gatherings are only limited to members of the close family and attendance should not be more than 20 in number.
“And we (council chairmen) have been directed to ensure full compliance with the federal and state government directives; that is why you can see my residents have complied with the directives.
“It is in view of this that I also want to call on my people and other Nigerians to embrace social distancing and adhere strictly to other preventive measures of Coronavirus as advised by the government and other health experts,” he said.
Maigoro firther enjoined Nigerians to maintain personal and environmental hygienes in their interest and for the overall health of the country.
He assured of his administration’s commitment to key into good policies and programmes that would have direct impact on the lives of the people of the area.
Besides, the council boss urged the people of the area to live peacefully with one another and to respect constituted authorities at all times in the interest of development.
