A Dangote cement truck has crushed six people to death in a ghastly motor accident in Epe, Lagos state.
The accident which occurred on the long bridge inwards Epe expressway involved a silo truck which reportedly fell on a commercial taxi conveying 7 persons, 6 of whom died on the spot while one is trapped under the vehicle at the time of filing this report.
However, operatives of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) who were at the scne of the accident have begun efforts in rescuing the trapped passenger according to The Nation.
Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, Director General (DG) LASEMA who confirmed the report to newsmen disclosed six occupants of the car died on impact.
Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu said: “Investigations revealed that a total of seven people were in the crushed car with six of them having lost their lives on or shortly after impact. Efforts are ongoing by the response team to extricate the single adult man who is alive but remains trapped beneath the silo truck.
“Recovery operation ongoing. The deceased will be transported to the mortuary for processing.

Director-General, LASEMA also enjoined citizens to adhere to the social distancing rule as a precautionary measure in curbing the menace of Coronavirus disease.
“We also wish to appeal to members of the public to comply with the COVID-19 social distancing guidelines laid down by the Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, to avoid endangering themselves as well as rescue workers who are already operating under extremely challenging conditions.”
