Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has released his former residence, the Presidential Hilltop in Abeokuta, Ogun, to be used as an isolation centre for victims of coronavirus.
Obasanjo’s media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, made this known on Friday, March 27.
Akinyemi explained that the 32-room facility has been handed over to Ogun state government for immediate take over.
According to him, “Obasanjo, who moved out of the building in November 2017, presently resides in the Penthouse at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta.

“The facility located off the Presidential Boulevard, Oke-Sari in the state capital, has each of the 32 rooms en suite, with a standby generator.

Akinyemi said the former president expressed concern over the pandemic and called on people in positions to help to offer assistance in containing the spread of the deadly virus.
In a related development, Former President Olusegun Obasanjo disclosed that he was forced to adjust events lined up to mark his birthday due to coronavirus outbreak.
The Herald gathered that the former president who made this known on Thursday while addressing well-wishers in Abeokuta said: “When we were thinking of this celebration, two programmes came to mind.”
