Alhaji Abdullah Allokojy, the state’s secretary of the league said this in a statement on Wednesday in Lokoja.

He said that the decision was taken after consultations with government, traditional rulers and medical experts in the state.

Allokojy said that the suspension will take effect from March 27, urging Muslim faithful to show understanding and cooperate.

Also, the state chapter of Council of Ulama of Nigeria has directed Imams and scholars in the state to embark on prayers that will wipe out coronavirus.

Justice Abdulkarim Aruwa, Secretary of the council, said in a statement that the prayers should continue till the end of the ravaging disease.

Aruwa advised Muslim faithful to abide by guidelines issued by government to tackle the virus.

” These are meant to protect and preserve precious lives of us all,” he said.
