South Africa quarantined 1, 240 passengers and 486 crew on a cruise liner on Tuesday over fears that some of the passengers might have contracted Coronavirus. The ship was said to be on its way from Namibia.
Another cargo ship was also held back from berthing alongside the cruise liner.
The cruise liner, MV AidAmira was restricted from coming into the port of Cape Town by state owned port managers Transnet.
Transnet said this was the first suspected case of the Coronavirus in a South African sea port.

The cruise liner was held after one of its crew members showed signs of the virus.
The South Africans said they established a connection between the crew member suspected of contracting the virus and another crew member as well as six passengers from the cruise ship. All 8 had been on the same flight before boarding the cruise liner.
South Africa now has 85 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus infection including 8 local transmissions.
South Africa issued a travel warning to it’s citizens to stay off cruise ships until further notice.
