Northwest governors have announced that schools will be closed down for the next 30 days over the global outbreak of coronavirus, with the number of cases in Nigeria increased to eight on Wednesday, including Kastina State.
This development was disclosed by the Northwest governors in a statement released to pressmen by the Chairman of the Forum and Kastina Governor, Aminu Sasari, who stated that the close down will take effect from Mard 23, 2020.
According to the statement, the closedown of school was mandated by the need to prevent the spread of the virus across the northwest region as Kastina state recorded it first case on Wednesday.

The Northeast Governors had a meeting in Kaduna with the heads of security agencies in the zone. They reviewed security approach against banditry.
Governor Masari then disclosed that governors will have a meeting with the states’ examination board to discuss the modalities of the development.
