The Republic of Chad has shutdown airports and borders in spite of no record of the deadly coronavirus in the country.
The decision was taken as a precautionary measure against the deadly virus which has been declared a Pandemic by World Health Organization (WHO) with a rising death toll of over 7,000 people in 30 nations of the world. Some of the affected countries include US, UK, Italy, Canada, France, Egypt, etc
The shutdown which will begin 12am Thursday, March 18 will not apply to planes transporting goods.
It is to be noted that Coronavirus originated from Wuhan China in December 2019 and it has spread to over 30 countries including Nigeria and Ghana among other African countries between Dec 2019 -March 2020.

US President Donald Trump has also shutdown country borders to reduce the rate of contraction as it has recorded over 2000 cases with Hollywood star Idris Elba and Basketball player Kevin Durant who tested positive to the virus. Canada and France have done the same
The third case of Coronavirus reported in NIgeria on Tuesday prompted the decision of the Federal Government to place travel entry restrictions on travelers from 13 countries which include China, Italy, Iran, South Korea, Spain, Japan, France, Germany, Norway, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Netherlands and Switzerland.
However, some Nigerians have criticized the government saying the decision is belated as 5 new Coronavirus were reported in the country on Wednesday. This totals the number of recorded cases to 8.
