Russia’s coronavirus response centre on Friday said Russia had confirmed six new cases of coronavirus disease, officially known as COVID-19 in the country.

“Over the past 24 hours in Russia, six cases of coronavirus infection have been registered among the citizens of Russia – one case in Nizhny Novgorod, five cases in Moscow,’’ the centre said in a statement.
The health authorities added that all the COVID-19 carriers had arrived from Italy in the past two weeks.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) said it had registered 2,241 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) worldwide within the past 24 hours, with 84 people having died.
The number of infected globally has passed 98,700, with more than 3,300 fatalities.
Over 55,400 people have recovered. Italy has the highest infection tally in Europe of over 3,800 people, followed by Germany with over 500 cases and France with more than 400.
The novel coronavirus disease was first detected in Wuhan, China’s Hubei province, in late December 2019, and has since spread worldwide.
In late January, the World Health Organisation declared a global health emergency in light of the epidemic.
